
Premier University’s English Department Celebrates a Vibrant ‘Colour Fest’.
Premier University’s English Department celebrated the ‘Colour Fest’ with great enthusiasm on Monday, 9th February 2026, organized by the students of the 40th batch. Held at the GEC Gate campus of Premier University, the day-long event transformed the campus into a colourful festival as students immersed themselves in dance, music, and playful colour activities. The event was organized under the overall supervision of 40th batch coordinator, Assistant Professor Syeda Salma Akter.
In his inaugural speech, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Premier University, Professor S. M. Nasrul Quadir, said that this joyous celebration for the graduating students would become a special chapter in the memories of their campus life. He praised the English Department for keeping students engaged in both academic and extracurricular activities, which allows them to find pure joy alongside their studies. When education and recreation go hand in hand, academic activities become more fruitful and enjoyable.
Professor Dr. Mohit Ul Alam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, addressed the students, emphasizing that education is not limited to textbooks alone, but also encompasses cultural engagement and the bonds of fellowship. He hoped that the vibrant colours of the Colour Fest would inspire students in their future lives. Such events foster creativity and help build a positive mindset before entering professional life.
Chairman of the English Department, Associate Professor Syed Jasim Uddin, stated, “You students are the brightest colours of our campus. Today’s enthusiastic participation demonstrates your skill in maintaining discipline alongside academic excellence.” He added, “This farewell is emotional for you and a matter of pride for us. I hope that wherever you go, you carry forward the vibrancy and discipline of the English Department.” He extended heartfelt thanks to the university authorities for their overall support in organizing such a wonderful and disciplined event.
The inaugural session was attended by the University’s Proctor, Associate Professor Mohammad Solaiman Chowdhury, Associate Professor Sadat Jaman Khan, Shahnaz Parveen, Kohinur Akter, Rafiqul Islam, Rumana Chowdhury, and a large number of students from various batches. Throughout the day, students spent an unforgettable day dancing, singing, and playfully colouring each other.
