Orientation of the Department of Sociology and Sustainable Development at Premier University.
The orientation program for the 13th batch of BSS (Fall 2025 Session) of the Department of Sociology and Sustainable Development was held at Premier University’s GEC Campus. The program took place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Premier University, Professor S. M. Nasrul Quadir, attended the program as the Chief Guest. The event was presided over by the Department Coordinator, Mr. Abdullah Al Mozahid. Special guests included the University Registrar Mr. Mohammad Iftakhar Monir, Proctor Mr. Mohammad Solaiman Chowdhury, Member of the Eve-Teasing Prevention Committee Mr. Gazi Shahadat Hossain, Librarian Mr. Md. Kawsar Alam, and Assistant Controller of Examinations Mr. Ayeakub Ali Manik.
Assistant Professor Ms. Sadiqa Sultana Chowdhury was present as the advisor of the 13th batch. The program was conducted by Lecturer Ms. Jannatul Ferdous.
In his speech, the Chief Guest, Professor S. M. Nasrul Quadir, said, “The Department of Sociology and Sustainable Development is an excellent and important department. By enrolling here, you have made the right decision for building a bright future. I believe that through your studies in this department, you will not only advance yourselves but also contribute to the progress of Premier University.”
He further added, “If all teachers, officers, staff, and students of Premier University work together, there will be no obstacle to the university’s success.” Explaining the concept of sustainable development, he told the newcomers, “You should use the resources of Premier University in such a way that future students can also benefit from them.”
In his special remarks, Registrar Mr. Mohammad Iftakhar Monir said, “I wish you all a wonderful academic journey over the next four years. The Department of Sociology and Sustainable Development provides an excellent learning environment.”
Proctor Mr. Mohammad Solaiman Chowdhury discussed the university’s Code of Conduct.
Member of the Eve-Teasing Prevention Committee Mr. Gazi Shahadat Hossain spoke about the measures to prevent sexual harassment.
Other speakers included Librarian Mr. Md. Kawsar Alam, Assistant Controller of Examinations Mr. Ayeakub Ali Manik, and Assistant Professor Ms. Sadiqa Sultana Chowdhury, advisor of the 13th batch.
In his concluding speech, Department Coordinator Mr. Abdullah Al Mozahid urged the new students to stay focused on their studies.
Faculty members and students of the Department of Sociology and Sustainable Development were present at the event.
